This was the final build week in my first 4-week block and although it was a bit of a struggle to fit all of the key sessions in around yet another set of nightshifts I managed to get everything done and did some real quality sessions. I was pleasantly surprised to average 5.20/km for my long run this week (18.4km) and was joined by Amy for my long ride where we managed to average 24.6km/hr over 80.4km. After only 3 weeks of training it is nice to see some form coming back…. I look forward to much more of that over the coming months!

On Saturday Chris and I flew back in time as we crossed the date line and arrived in Niue Friday afternoon local time. On Saturday morning (Sunday NZ time) we did a short run that ended up being a lot harder than planned because of the heat! I’m looking forward to spending my recovery week here.
